EKCO was one of only about 1/2 a dozen English brands of radio available in New Zealand until the late '30s. They mainly became known here for one particular model introduced in 1937. The SW86 6 valve console. Wouldn't mind one of those! From about the same time, they imported some portable battery powered sets.

This is another from the Garage sale, that only needed a bit of a cabinet clean. Works very well. It's a 5 valve Broadcast, plus Gram input. Made by Ultimate Ekco. Probably early 60's I think. Model REF.
